I first took my son out on a charter with Harbour and Estuary Fishing Charters because I wanted to learn how to catch kingfish. Peter was very patient and told us that in order to catch kingfish consistently that we would need to get fresh squid. We spent a couple of hours catching squid, Peter told us what to do and gave advice that I still use to this day to catch squid.
He also explained that it was worthwhile spending as much time as was necessary because there was a very likely conversion rate of 1 to 1 squid to kingfish. We had a great day, and whilst we didn’t come home with any keepers (not through Peters lack of trying) we caught a couple each. I have been back to fish with Peter many times since and have always had a great day on the water – Peter put me onto my PB fish of 87cm, so I can’t recommend this charter highly enough.
